January 2017.

It has been a while since I have updated my blog, but after my illness, I had no energy to concentrate. I'm on the mend so here is the update.

I have now received 56 reviews from readers for my first book 'Whispers of the Past'. I'm pleased to say they have all been favourable. I'm happy with the result, but like all authors would appreciate more.

The book from what I can see is selling well, though, at the end of the day, I won't know the result until the cheque comes in. Luckily more libraries around New Zealand have the book on their shelves, so that's a good sign.

Our three months spent in Aussie, wasn't productive book wise, only selling five in total. Though I gave out many business cards and a lot of those interested, have Kindles so that sales could come in down the line. The books I sold were to mainly expat Kiwi's I met when we had a small reunion at the RSL at Redcliffe Qld. Those blokes and their wives were very supportive.

We returned with 15 books spread around our cases, but within a month they were all sold. So I'm happy with that. The new batch will be with us soon, and six have already been pre-sold. I have to thank 'Books on Parade' Wairoa for this and Scorpio Books in Christchurch reordered as well.

NZME asked me for a book for them to review for their book page, which was duly sent. This group runs our NZ community newspapers from Kaitaia to the Bluff. I'm hoping for a favourable review.

The market in Gisborne was a flop, though lots of cards were given out, you have to live in hope. When I'm feeling better, a plan of action is needed. I want to hit the high schools in particular, that I have not visited before, at the moment I have only scratched the surface.

Anyway, all's going well. The proofreading on the second book 'Shadows of the Mind' is still ongoing, and as I'm starting to feel a bit better, 'Clearing of the Mist' the final book in the trilogy is moving forward and three-quarters of the way through.

Watch this space.
